Wii Mario Cart

This time Nintendo added a little something extra to their old friend Mario, the intuitive Wii Wheel.  This makes it even easier for beginner Wii Mario Cart players to compete against more experienced players, so no one gets left out.  Also, the broadband hookup to Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection allows players to compete with up to 11 other drivers.  These drivers can be sitting on the couch next to you or on another continent, half way around the world.

The game itself includes 16 brand new courses and returns the 16 classic courses from previous versions.  A new twist, however is that players have the option of riding in their carts or trying their hand at a motorcycle.  It's also cool how you can create your own character in addition to the classic line up of your favorites.

Remaining true to its roots, Wii Mario Cart offers plenty of racing with tons of "power ups" and objects for players to pick up along the way.  Of course these objects help slow down the competition.  There are 10 battle arenas to keep players occupied between trips.

A cool feature is how it supports different controller options.  You can use the Wii remote with or without the Wii Wheel.  Or you could just use the remote and nunchuck.  You can even use your old GameCube controller if you want.  There's bound to be a controller out there that fits your style.

The Wii Channel is a really neat feature to enhance the game experience.  It allows you to compete in tournaments, check the world wide rankings, find your friends.  It's configured into the new version.  Which makes playing games on this new platform that much more involved.

Nintendo's stated purpose for Wii is to help bring people together.  You can see how games like Wii Mario Cart are helping to achieve that goal.
